CLARITAS IPA & Net Worth Profiles

Target by financial status

Overview

To successfully target America’s wealthiest consumers, you need information that goes a lot deeper than just income.

Nielsen Claritas offers the most precise, detailed information about a household’s liquid or total assets with profiles of Income Producing Assets (IPA) and Net Worth. Available for P$YCLE and PRIZM, IPA and Net Worth Profiles provide powerful insights into your target customers’ financial background for more effective campaign planning.

Features & Benefits

IPA and Net Worth Profiles can be combined with segmentation to examine a segment’s asset bases. It can also be appended to a customer file independently to add a finer level of behavioral segmentation or modeling power.

IPA and Net Worth both measure a household’s financial status, but each provides a view of affluence from a slightly different angle.

Net Worth model information includes:

  • A household’s net financial position
  • A household’s entire assets minus its liabilities or debts against those assets
  • Liquid assets such as savings accounts, CDs or stocks
  • The value of a primary residence
  • Cash value of insurance, collectibles, real estate and other investments
  • Liabilities such as mortgages, auto loans, student loans, home improvement loans, credit card balances and other personal loans
  • Balances on other lines of credit
  • The net difference in a household’s assets minus liabilities

The information experts at Nielsen Claritas designed the IPA model as a powerful tool to obtain a more precise measurement of affluent market segments. IPA focuses solely on a household’s liquid financial assets – key information that financial marketers use to quantify household assets that can be moved from one investment vehicle to another, including:

  • Checking accounts
  • Savings accounts
  • Certificates of deposit
  • IRAs
  • Mutual funds
  • Retirement accounts

  • Keogh accounts
  • Corporate/Municipal bonds
  • Commodity contracts
  • Warrants
  • Options
  • US saving bonds
  • Treasury bills
  • Other government securities
  • Sweep accounts
