Data Architect
Nielsen Claritas (www.claritas.com), the premier provider of intelligent marketing information and target marketing services in a business to business environment, has an exciting opportunity for a Data Architect.
The Data Architect provides data and metadata services supporting the understanding, definition, and maintenance of Claritas' data and metadata to product managers, developers, functional owners and other Claritas stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the definition and documentation of data architecture through gathering of requirements from end-user departments or through reverse engineering of existing data uses.
- Provides services and verifies quality through all stages of implementation
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks in support of the definition, structure, integration and maintenance of data in the enterprise.
- Facilitates and documents the agreements on appropriate corporate data and its usage.
- Understands how the data relates to the current workflow and potential future processes.
- Remains abreast of industry developments and trends.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/specialist.
- Facilitates resolution of differing data usage.
- May lead and direct the work of others (informally or formally).
- Data flow diagramming and modeling.
- Research, analyze, and document data entities, information exchanges, and system data exchanges
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Computer Science, or related engineering field.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Excellent written and oral communicate skills.
- 4-5 years experience with Oracle, Unix, SQL, PL/SQL, Sharepoint and E/R Studio.
- Experience with Microsoft office packages including Outlook
- Has mastery-level knowledge of a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of Data Architecture.
- Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills
- Be able to gather complex business requirements and create solutions
- Deliver quality work on time with multiple, competing priorities
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
- Be detail-oriented and result-focused with total commitment to team success, excellence, and quality assurance
- Possess a thorough understanding of:
- Database technologies
- Data Warehouse methodologies
- ETL design and implementation experience
- Oracle or DB2 or SqlServer or other mainstream database technology
- Best practices and methodologies in data design, conceptual and logical modeling
- Metadata / Ontologies
- Business Intelligence and/or Analytical tools( e.g. Business Objects, Cognos, Microsoft SSRS, Actuate, Microstragegy, SAS or Other)
- Be able to work well with a diverse team that includes several architects, SMEs, database developers, data quality analysts, DBAs, metadata analysts, etc.

Client Service Manager
Claritas (www.claritas.com), the premier leader in precision marketing solutions, has an exciting opportunity for a Client Service Manager in our Arlington office. The successful candidate will be part of a consultative team responsible for acquisition and growth, and development of new and existing clients in the Retail, Restaurant and Real Estate industries.
Responsibilities:
- MAINTAIN regular contact with all
client accounts
- PREPARE & DELIVER client
presentations
- IDENTIFY cross-sell opportunities
- PROVIDE applications support and
training on the use of our software products, databases, and segmentation
systems
- PREPARE technical specifications
& written analysis for custom projects
- GROW contacts within existing client
organization
- MAINTAIN adequate technical/product
knowledge
- DEVELOP & MAINTAIN awareness of
both the information industry and assigned industry focus
- COMPLETE all sales forecasts on time
- MAINTAIN all client contact in
Avenue/Pipeline
- TRAVEL on average 30-40% of time
- MANAGE & SERVICE assigned
accounts
- PREPARE renewal & upsell proposals with detailed quotations
Secondary:
- ASSIST sales team in new business
activities
- ACT as backup for other Field stuff
Requirements:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent
experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
packages including Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
- Excellent business/analytic writing
and presentation skills
- Previous experience with desk-top
analysis/mapping package
- Previous experience with
demographics and/or research databases
- Excellent working knowledge of all
Claritas products and services
- Minimum 3 years business experience
