
Mark NelsonMark Nelson is Senior Vice President of Business Development and Direct Marketing Services, and in that role responsible for overseeing the company’s third-party partnerships, as well as its enhanced targeting capabilities for direct marketing applications. He is based in the San Diego office.
Mr. Nelson has more than 20 years experience in the market intelligence, market research, analytics and direct marketing fields. He has held senior executive positions in sales, services and operations with major private and public firms, as well as venture-backed startups.
Before joining Claritas, Mr. Nelson was Vice President and General Manager, Dimensions, a market research software application from SPSS, Inc., a leading provider of market research and analytics software. Also while at SPSS, he held the position of Vice President of North American Services.
Prior to SPSS, he served as Executive Vice President of Market Analytics Solutions at Symphony Services, a global provider of product engineering outsourcing services, where he was responsible for driving the development and sales of outsourced service offerings to the market research industry.
Mr. Nelson started his career in marketing with Ziff-Davis Market Intelligence (ZDMI) where he gained increasing levels of responsibility, leading to senior executive roles as Vice President of Sales and General Manager of ZDMI’s Consumer Research Group. He was also a key executive involved in the sale of ZDMI to Harte-Hanks, Inc., where he served as President of the Technology Sales Organization.
